Mrs. Jaclyn of our Music Together® classes has successfully completed the live Music Together Teacher Training, which is built on research in early childhood and music development. She keeps her skills fresh through workshops every semester and advanced trainings offered by Music Together Worldwide. Our vocal and instrumental teachers are highly qualified in instructing and encouraging students from beginner to advanced in reaching their musical potential.
Jaclyn Konicek teaches all Music Together classes as well as private vocal instruction.
Jaclyn grew up in Texas where she studied voice with Sara Baker at Howard Payne University, Dr. Stephen Farrish at the University of North Texas, and Dr. Clifton Ware at the University of Minnesota. After college, she spent the next 22 years performing concerts with her husband, Craig, a professional trumpet player, and raising their two daughters. They have performed in concert throughout the United States as well as recording an album together of their favorite concert pieces. She served as Children’s Music Director at Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL and directed a 60 voice children’s choir at First Baptist Church of Ocala, FL. She has been teaching voice and piano for over 30 years and has sung as a soloist throughout the country. Jaclyn has also recorded television commercials for the Walt Disney World Company and as a backup singer and guest soloist on several albums. From 2009 to 2014 she taught in the Lafourche Parish Public School System. There, she was the choral director for 6 of the Thibodaux schools, which includes, 7 elementary school choirs, 2 middle school choirs and 1 high school choir. Her choirs consistently earned sweepstakes and superior ratings at the district and state levels. She has also been very successful as a clinician, adjudicator and guest conductor. At present, Jaclyn is the accompanist at Living Hope Community Church in Ocala, FL, and Director of Ko-Nice Family Music LLC.
Craig Konicek teaches private trumpet lessons for students ages 10 years and up.
Before retiring in the fall of 2012, Craig Konicek taught for the Lafourche Parish School Board. He traveled to schools teaching music in the Parish. Craig has over 40 years of trumpet experience and his professional career has given him opportunities to perform with many artists. Craig was the lead trumpet at Walt Disney World from 1982-87 and was a member of the North Texas One O’Clock Lab Band from 1978-80. As a soloist, he has performed with junior high, high school, and college bands, jazz bands and orchestras all across the United States. As an educator, he taught at Anoka/Ramsey Community College, Central Florida Community College and Nicholls State University. He also taught at Southeastern Louisiana University for eight years before serving the past 15 years in full time music ministry. Craig has recorded with many artists during his professional career. He and his wife Jaclyn have a concert ministry which has taken them all over the US. Craig received his B.A.A. and B.M. degrees from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and his M.M.Ed. from the University of North Texas. He has been an active clinician for the Getzen/Edwards Company for over 20 years and is now an active clinician for Warburton mouthpieces and trumpets and is available for clinics and concerts. He has served as orchestra director and assistant minister of music at First Baptist Church Merritt Island, FL, Lakeside Baptist Church Birmingham, AL and First Baptist Church Ocala, FL. He has served as minister of music at Robert Missionary Baptist Church Robert, LA, Woodland Park Baptist Church Hammond, LA, Crestway Baptist Church Birmingham, AL, interim at First Baptist Church Ocala, FL, Trinity Baptist Church Mathews, LA and at present, Living Hope Community Church Ocala, FL.
